Hello all —

I just sent out the following alerts message to our Alerts List. I thought I’d post it here as well.

FHL FOUNDATION CONSOLIDATES BLOG AND WEB SITES, ADDS NEW FEATURES

Back on July 15th, 2011, I wrote the following blog post over at our blog site:

It’s July, 2011, and we have had our BLT Blog Site up for almost a year now. We’ve had so much success with the hosted version of WordPress (along with our Flexx theme) that we have decided to move the content from our old web site over to our BLT Blog Site. By asking our blog site to do double duty as a CMS (content management system), we are able to streamline the process of updating our web site content. In addition, it will be easier for us to integrate blog site and web site content. So, look for more and more of the content from our old web site to show up under the Foundation Web Site navigation button above. We’ll keep the old web site up for legacy purposes, but it will not be updated. We hope to have the migration process completed by the end of the summer, 2011.

Well, we are happy to announce that the migration process mentioned above has been completed. To access the Foundation’s new web site area,  select the Foundation Web Site menu item above.

Our decision to consolidate our blog and web sites using WordPress was triggered by the fact that FrontPage (the web design software we used for our old site) was discontinued in 2006. Upgrading our office PC computers meant abandoning FrontPage. Such is life in the world of computers. We enjoyed using FrontPage while it lasted. Frankly, many of our old web pages were in need of being revised or updated (or even tossed out). Moving is hard but it does afford this cleaning-out process.

So, take a moment to visit our new web site and our new, revised and updated content. A new feature to look for: all of our online web-based application questions (i.e., Letter of Intent, Full Proposal, and Follow-up Report) are now listed in the guidelines area along with successful examples of completed forms (used by permission). Feel free to email us with questions, comments, or needed corrections using the Contact Us button above.

Take care,

Rick
